The Triton is a new super-low cost scale that is taking the market by storm.   We found these scales at most major stores and at almost every internet shoppe.  They are just a basic pocket scale, styled like the old scales of the 1980's but with an added protective cover that can be used as a platform expansion tray.

The design is really just basic utilitarian, but overall this scale looks very nice.  We like the gold tone graphics, large LCD display and large color buttons.   The Triton has a recessed CAL button so you won't put the scale in Calibration mode by accident (nice touch!).

Accuracy was good,  the scale was accurate plus or minus 0.1g throughout our testing spectrum.

Overall:  HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?
This is the lowest priced quality pocket scale in the market.  It has all of the standard features that you'd expect from a scale (Tare, Auto Off function, Recalibratable) but it doesn't have any of the advanced features of the premium scales.  The TRITON reads in Grams only - so if you need to weigh in Ounces, Troy Ounces, or Pennyweight you're out of luck.   Also the Triton has a capacity of only 100 grams.   The My Weigh MX-200 has a capacity of 200 grams,  reads in all four standard modes and (in our humble opinion) looks a lot more contemporary.

Recommendations:  This is a great ENTRY-LEVEL scale.  However we suggest spending a bit more and buying the MX-200 instead (you really get a lot more for your money with the MX-200).   That being said, the Triton is a nice basic scale, and would suit most needs perfectly.   It's the lowest priced quality scale in the market.
